Fika is more than just a coffee break in Sweden. It is a moment to slow down, enjoy something sweet and spend time with people you like. As someone who grew up in Skåne, I have visited many cafés, but a few special places always stay in my heart. Here is my personal guide to my hiddens gems in the region, with short descriptions of what makes each one worth a visit.
Broder Jakobs Stenugnsbageri – Klostergatan 9, 222 22 Lund, Sverige
Bröder Jakob is one of those bakeries where you can smell the magic from the street. Their Köpenhamnare is honestly the best I have ever had (I mean, just look at the picture!).
You should also try out their cinnamon buns. They are soft, buttery and full of warm spice. These buns are classic Swedish pastries, usually enjoyed during fika and Bröder Jakob makes them in a way that feels both traditional and extra special.

Söderberg & Sara stenugnsbageri – Regementsgatan 2, 271 35 Ystad, Sverige
This is a beautiful artisan bakery where everything feels crafted with real care. Their pasteries during summer time are incredible. They often feature berries or citrus and go perfectly with a cup of strong coffee. It is the kind of bakery where you can taste the craftsmanship in every bite.

Flickorna Lundgren på Skäret – Skäretvägen 19, 263 72 Skäret, Sverige
Flickorna Lundgren is famous not only for its cakes but also for its fantastic location near the sea. For me, it is full of childhood memories: it was my family’s go-to place in the summer, especially after school ended for the year. Their jordgubbstårta (strawberry cake) is unforgettable!

Noir Vin & Kaffekultur – Engelbrektsgatan 6, 211 33 Malmö, Sverige
A stylish and cozy café in the center of Malmö. Noir serves some of the best coffee in the city and their matcha treats are also excellent. Noir is perfect for a slow morning, people-watching, or enjoying a quiet fika with a good book.

Bruket Kaffebar – Bruksgatan 9, 252 23 Helsingborg, Sverige
Bruket is a café where everything feels relaxed and welcoming. If you visit during the right season, you must try their semlor which is soft cardamom buns filled with almond paste and whipped cream. Semlor are a Swedish classic, eaten especially before Lent and Bruket makes them wonderfully fluffy.

Bageri Leve – Östra Rönneholmsvägen 6, 211 47 Malmö, Sverige
Bageri Leve has become famous in Malmö for its amazing selection of pastries, but for me, their munkar (donuts) are the real stars. It is the kind of place where you walk in thinking you will buy one thing and walk out with a whole box.
