Day 1 – Coastal Towns, Apple Orchards and the Best Beach in Skåne
Start your trip in Simrishamn, a small coastal town full of cobblestone streets, pastel houses and fishing boats. Take a walk through the harbor and enjoy a fika at one of the cafés in the old town. Around lunch time, drive north along the coast to Kivik, a village famous for its apple orchards. Stop at Kiviks Musteri to taste freshly made apple juice and cider and maybe bring home some jam or marmalade. If the weather is nice, drive to Knäbäckshusen Beach nearby. The sand is white, the sea is cristal clear and the small wooden houses make it look like something from a postcard. Bring a picnic, a blanket and something to read since you might not want to leave until the evening when the sun starts to set over the water. For dinner, I recommend Buhres in Kivik right by the harbor. Try their fish soup, megrim sole or shrimp sandwich while watching the sunset over the sea.

Day 2 – Hiking, Garden Lunch, Medieval Castle and a Quiet Evening in the Countryside
After breakfast on the second day, spend the morning at Stenshuvud National Park, one of Sweden’s most beautiful natural areas. Walk through the forest trails up to the viewpoint, where you get a stunning view over Hanö Bay. If it’s warm, you can even take a swim at the small beach below. For lunch, make your way to Mandelmanns Trädgårdar in Rörum. It’s an organic farm with animals, self-pick vegetables and a lovely restaurant serving food made from their own produce. Remember to book in advance, especially in summer. In the afternoon, visit Glimmingehus, the best-preserved medieval castle in the Nordic countries. Dinner is best enjoyed at Talldungen Gårdshotell in Brösarp. Hidden among the trees, this countryside restaurant serves creative dishes with local ingredients and natural wines.

Day 3 – A Morning Above the Sea, Fresh Pastries and Art Around Every Corner
Begin the third day in Kåseberga which is home to the famous Ales Stenar. The ancient stone ship sits high above the sea and it’s especially beautiful in the early morning or late evening light. Bring a picnic and sit for a while, just listening to the wind and waves. Continue your journey inland toward Glemminge, where you’ll find Olof Viktors bakery and café. Their bread and cakes are baked on-site, and the cardamom bun is truly legendary.
If you’re visiting in spring or early summer, check out the Österlen Art Walk, when local artists open their studios to visitors. Drive slowly between small villages and stop wherever something catches your eye. End the day in Ingelstorp at Pastafabriken, a cozy restaurant in a renovated barn that serves fresh handmade pasta and good wine.

Day 4 – Ending Your Trip with Calm, Care and Soft Yoga Moments
On your last day, slow down and enjoy some peaceful hours at Mudita Yoga Österlen Sweden. The studio is surrounded by quiet countryside and it’s a wonderful place to relax before you go home. You can choose to visit only for the day. Join a soft morning class, try a relaxing yin session or book a treatment. Afterward, sit in the garden, drink a cup of tea or take a moment to write and reflect on your weekend.
If you want something deeper, you can stay for a full retreat. The retreat includes calm mornings, healthy meals and several yoga sessions that help both body and mind to rest. Waking up in this peaceful environment is a very special experience. Whether you stay for a few hours or spend the night, Mudita Yoga Österlen is a perfect way to end your Österlen trip feeling rested and renewed.
